Call for Workshop Proposals

Following the MDM tradition, MDM 2021 workshops will provide participants with opportunities to discuss and explore emerging areas of mobile data management with fellow students, researchers, and practitioners. The goals of the workshops are to establish a common understanding of a certain aspect, to share experiences, foster research communities, learn from each other, identify open problems and/or explore directions for future research. Note that the workshops are expected to provide significant room for controversial and stimulating discussions. The organizers of the workshop should thus take care of planning the correct presentation format to enable such kind of lively interaction.

Workshops are tentatively planned to be held the day before the conference. Publication of accepted workshop papers will be through IEEE Computer Society.

Submission Instructions:

Workshop proposals should be no longer than 4 pages and must include:

  1. The Workshop title and acronym.
  2. A summary of no more than 250 words describing the theme(s) of the workshop.
  3. A more detailed description of the workshop format, specific goals and plan, and explanations of why the workshop is a good match with MDM.
  4. The names, addresses, and a short bio (up to 200 words) of the organizers (up to three).
  5. The names of potential program committee members.
  6. If applicable, a description of past versions of the workshop, including number of submitted and accepted papers, and number of attendees.
  7. The expected number of participants and the means of soliciting participation.
  8. A description of the publicity plan.
  9. A tentative Call for Papers of the workshop, including the workshop website address.
