Daejeon also offers a diverse range of options for hotels, easily accessible through public transport (subway being the best way), so we advise a wider search through online hotel booking sites (e.g. booking.com, expedia, kayak, etc.) to evaluate a broader range of prices/features, which might provide even better rates.

How to reach KAIST from Incheon Airport

1. Airport Limousine Bus (Simple and Recommended)

Bus No. : Daejeon(Deluxe)
Travel Time: 180 min. / Fare: 23,100 KRW / Interval: 20 min.

Step 1) Buy an Airport Limousine Bus ticket at the Incheon International Airport.



Step 2) Take the Airport Limousine Bus at bus stop 9D.

Step 3) The bus makes three stops in total. The stations, in order, are Daeduk Convention Center, Daejeon Government Complex, and Dongboo Cross-Country Bus Terminal Center. Get off at the second stop, Daejeon Government Complex, shown below. It would be safe to show the driver the following, meaning "Is this the Government Complex stop?": "여기가 대전 정부청사입니까?"



Step 4) Take a taxi from the bus station to KAIST. The cab fee is usually around 6,000 KRW.

2. Train/KTX

Travel Time: 45 min(AREX) + 50 min(KTX) + 20 min(subway) / Fare: 14,800 KRW(AREX) + 19,700 KRW(KTX) + 1,200 KRW(Subway) / Interval: 35 min(AREX), (KTX), 10 min(subway)

Step 1) To arrive at Daejeon by KTX, you must first go to Seoul station via the airport railroad express(AREX). Detailed instructions can be found here.

Step 2) Take the KTX train from Seoul station to Daejeon station.

Step 3) Take the subway from Daejeon station to Government Complex.

Step 4) Take a taxi from the bus station to KAIST.

* As far as we know, the conference participants stay in many different hotels, and we had to cancel the shuttle bus operation.

* You can easily reach the venue by taxi, at a very cheap rate (under $5). Only about 4km between the venue and the hotels.

Located in central South Korea, about an hour south of Seoul by KTX, Daejeon offers a convenient transportation network with access to every region in the country. For this reason, it has grown to be the most advanced commercial and industrial city in the Chungcheong-do region. The Daedeok Innopolis (Daedeok Research and Development Special Zone), in Daejeon, is composed of 28 government-funded research institutions, as well as 79 private research institutes with as many as 20,000 researchers. Top tourist sites include the Expo Park, National Science Museum, Daedeok Science Town, Yousung Hotel, Aqua World, and the O-World Theme Park.
